Apply for a Rotation

Application

Applications are only accepted through ERAS and must be submitted by November 1. ERAS applications must include your USMLE or COMLEX transcript as well as your NRMP number. Your Personal Statement should describe your background, aspirations, vision and commitment to Family Medicine, and specific interest in our program. Those selected to interview will be contacted by email by November 15. We have additional information if you are applying as an international medical graduate (see International Medical Graduate FAQs).

Interview

GRMC FM Residency Program will offer in-person interviews only (individual exceptions for virtual interviews for couples matching candidates may be made in January only). If invited for an interview, we will be using Thalamus for all correspondence and interview scheduling. Informal pre-interview dinners are scheduled for the evening before your interview day and will be hosted at the homes of our residents. Interview days include a group session with our Program Director, individual interviews with a combination of faculty and senior residents, lunch with our residents, and a tour of the hospital and clinic facilities. Our program will provide lodging for you (and your spouse, if applicable) while in Gadsden.

Logistics

GRMC FM Residency Program selects residents on the basis of their preparedness, ability, aptitude, academic credentials, communication skills and personal qualities such as character, motivation, and integrity. GRMC FMRP does not discriminate with regard to sex, race, age, color, national origin, disability, veteran status, or religious affiliation. Residents are expected to abide by a professional code of conduct at all times.

Applicants must be graduates from a LCME or AOA-accredited medical school or be ECFMG certified.
