GRMC Family Medicine Residency Program Mission Statement
Our purpose is to passionately teach, model and mentor exceptional residency education and whole-person care for all patients in our community and beyond, by cultivating an ethos of integrity, accountability, and compassion by developing future family physicians with lives of mission, excellence and service to others.
Our Program Aims To:
- Create and model a distinct culture of respect, inclusivity, family-orientation, wisdom, gratitude and goodness towards residents, faculty, staff, and patients as a model for our community of individual and organizational wellness and resilience.
- Provide our patients and community with exceptional, whole-person care promoting physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual healing and well-being, with compassion and reverence for all.
- Educate, counsel and guide residents as the Family Physician leaders, faculty, and community providers of tomorrow, acknowledging the privilege and responsibility to promote unrivaled patient care, fiscal responsibility, professional integrity, personal accountability, and a humble commitment to lifelong learning and selfless service.
- Promote resident physician personal and professional growth opportunities through experience with underserved populations, both in the US and internationally, engaging in needed healthcare services for these communities through patient and medical education, prevention strategies, public health, and acute clinical/hospital care participation, thereby gaining knowledge and understanding of the unique socio-cultural factors that impede or promote access and utilization of local or regional health facilities.
